 Passage: Psalm 23:6
Do you feel like something is chasing you? What do you think it is? It might surprise you, but the psalmist says goodness and mercy are hot on your trail.

 Passage: Psalm 23:5
The languages of the Bible depend upon metaphors, similes, and other word pictures in order to convey God's truths. We just can't make sense of heavenly revelation without some earthly comparisons. We certainly can't make sense of Psalm 23 without understanding the powerful metaphors so beautifully portrayed in the poem. The two little phrases at the end of verse 5, the anointed head and an overflowing cup, are rich examples of how God paints word pictures in order to show us the richness of his blessings

 Passage: Psalm 23:4
A flock of sheep must have a sense of security in order to even survive. The means of that security for the sheep provide images that tell us human beings how we too can find peaceful security.

 Passage: Psalm 23:3
There's a lot more good meal than tasty food. The company, the occasion, the whole atmosphere become a part of setting a good table. The very reason that the host chooses to provide the meal makes it not only meaningful but delicious. The table the Lord has prepared before you offer much more than something to fill your stomachs (cf. John 6:26-27)

 Passage: Psalm 23:4
What is the darkest place you have been,...physically,...emotionally,...spiritually? David talks about that place in the 23 Psalm. He calls it the valley of the shadow of death.

 Passage: Psalm 23:3
I have come to the conclusion that I would mush rather have a trustworthy guide than have the directions to my destination. David thought so too. He says sheep need a shepherd that will lead them on the right paths. They don't do very well at figuring out the right ways to the green pastures for themselves, even if they have a good map.

 Passage: Romans 15:17-32
1.Paul fully proclaimed the gospel from Jerusalem to Illyricum 2.Paul wanted to finish his work in Jerusalem 3.Paul wanted to come to the Romans in the fullness of the blessing of Christ 4.Paul wanted the Romans to fill him and refresh him 5. After being filled, he would proceed on to Spain

 Passage: Psalm 23:3
Every word of Scripture counts, it's all inspired, so each word needs to be considered carefully. Take a look at four words in Psalm 23: "He restores my soul", (In Hebrew its actually just two words). Your life depends on what';s revealed in those words.

 Passage: Luke 1:5-25
Date: Sun, Jul 19, 2015       Teacher: James Slone       Series: Psalm 23
 Passage: Psalm 23:2
I'm fascinated by the first thing David says the shepherd does for the sheep: He makes me [his sheep] to lie down in green pastures, and he leads me beside still waters (Psalm 23:2). Yes. the shepherd finds food and drink for the sheep, but that's not all that he does according to that verse. Let's also look at the rest that he provides for us in the green pastures and quiet waters.
