The Paths of Righteousness
Date:
Sun, Aug 16, 2015
Teacher:
James Slone
Series:
Psalm 23
Passage:
Psalm 23:3
I have come to the conclusion that I would mush rather have a trustworthy guide than have the directions to my destination. David thought so too. He says sheep need a shepherd that will lead them on the right paths. They don't do very well at figuring out the right ways to the green pastures for themselves, even if they have a good map.

Green Pastures and Still Waters
Date:
Sun, Jul 19, 2015
Teacher:
James Slone
Series:
Psalm 23
Passage:
Psalm 23:2
I'm fascinated by the first thing David says the shepherd does for the sheep: He makes me [his sheep] to lie down in green pastures, and he leads me beside still waters (Psalm 23:2). Yes. the shepherd finds food and drink for the sheep, but that's not all that he does according to that verse. Let's also look at the rest that he provides for us in the green pastures and quiet waters.

I Shall Not Want
Date:
Sun, Jul 12, 2015
Teacher:
James Slone
Series:
Psalm 23
Passage:
Psalm 23:1
Want resides so deeply in the human psychic that nearly all of us start with that primary sentences,"I want...", and we haven't stopped using it. That's why I am in awe of David's simple statement, "The Lord is my Shepherd, I Shall not want." That's a sentence we all need to learn by heart.

Date:
Sun, Jul 05, 2015
Teacher:
James Slone
Passage:
Genesis 13:12-13
Sodom was obliterated about 4,000 years ago. It's gone, not a smidgen to be found, but it's still one of the most widely remembered cities of the ancient world. Sodom didn't last through even half the book of Genesis, but it continued to be recalled throughout the rest of the Bible right up through the book of Revelation.
