Connecting Opportunities

New Life Club Meetings

Meetings are held every month on the third Thursday at 12:00 noon in the Vine Cafe. No reservations are needed. Join in for great fun, food and fellowship. Over 100 people attend each month!   

 

New Life Club Choir

We have three dozen beautiful souls who love to sing the Gospel of Christ. We sing a forty-minute program at two nursing homes every first Thursday of the month. We love to sit and visit after we sing with the precious folks in the places we visit, as well as to fellowship with each other on the bus to and from and at lunch! If you want a stress free, rewarding ministry and can carry even a "slight" tune, please consider joining us. Meets every Wednesday at 5:30 p.m. in the Park Room for practice.

"Oklahoma" - Presented by Stages - St. Louis

September 13, 2018
Cost: $70.00 Payable upon booking

 

We will leave the church parking lot at 1:00 pm Thursday, September 13 to attend the 2:00 matinee of "OKLAHOMA," one of the great musical theatre presentations of all time.


After the show we will have a leisurely dinner at "Ruby Tuesday's," not included in package.

St. Louis Cardinals vs. Atlanta Braves in Atlanta, GA
September 17-18, 2018

Yes, it can be done in two days. We will leave the St. Matthew parking lot at 6 a.m. and travel to Atlanta, GA with lunch on the road, on your own. We will probably go right to the ball park, so have your Cardinal gear on for the day. 

 

The game starts at 7:30 p.m. and we have deluxe seating in the "Hank Aaron Terrace." This private area has indoor and outdoor seating and a private restroom. This all-inclusive area features hamburgers, cheeseburgers, chicken tenders, pulled pork sandwiches, nacho bar, hot dogs, pretzels, popcorn, Cracker Jacks, kettle chips, roasted peanuts, fountain sodas, and chocolate chip cookies, included in your package. Food is available from the time we arrice to the end of the 5th inning. You should be well stuffed by then.

 

We will stay the evening at the Homewood Suites by Hilton Atlanta-Gallerica Cumberland, 3200 Cobb Parkway, Atlanta, GA 30339 (770-988-9449). Hotels are at a premium when the Cardinals are in town. There are "all suite" rooms with full kitchens (should you care to cook.) If not, you can enjoy their complimentary breakfast on Tuesday Morning the 18th. After breakfast, at a time TBD, we will load the coach and drive back to SunTrust Stadium and have a tour of SunTrust Stadium at 9 a.m., inculded in your package. After the tour we will have lunch in the "Battery" across the stadium at the new restaurant "Feed Fried Chicken," on your own.

 

After lunch, we will board the coach bus and head home. We will be arriving home around 11 p.m. or later. You can sleep soundly as the evening draws near as we have two great drivers accustomed to these drive times, Greg Souders and Gene Lively.

 

Since this is just a two day trip you will not have any calls or mailings to remind you, so mark your calendars please.

Lunch and Guided Tour of the Gasthof Amish Village in Montgomery, IN

October 25, 2018

We will leave the St. Matthew parking lot at 7:00 am for a 3 1/2 hour drive to the Gasthof Amish Village and Restaurant in Montgomery, IN.


Upon arrival, around 11:30 a.m., we will enjoy a lavish Amish buffet in the rustic building built by Amish carpenters. Fresh homemade pies, bread, noodles, cookies and cakes are made daily at the restaurant and bakery.


After lunch we will have a guided tour of Gasthof Village, which sits on 92 acres and houses a hotel, restaurant; boutique shops., antique shops and is nestled around a 25 acre lake. Some of the shops we will visit include The Heuboden, The Pig and The Fiddle, the Blue Door and others where there are rugs, quilts, baskets, jewelry, soaps, lotions, pottery, vintage glassware, purses, books, etc. to shop for. We will arrive back in Belleville around 6:00 pm.

Christmas in the Smokies and the Biltmore Estates

Join us for a Christmas week through the shows, food and shopping at Pigeon Forge and Sevierville, TN and the Biltmore Estate in North Carolina.

 

We will start off your Christmas season early in the beautiful Smoky Mountains. We will be staying 4 nights in Pigeon Forge.

 

We will be attending 2 dinner shows during the week; Dolly Parton's Chirstmas Smoky Mountain Adventure (not Dollywood) and The Hatfield and McCoy Christmas Dinner Disaster. We will attend Christmas at the Smoky Mountain Opera as well as travel to the world famous Biltmore Estate for touring and dinner. At the Biltmore Estate nothing is spared in the way of making sure the Biltmore Christmas evening dinner guests experience the Biltmore as it was so long ago. There are very elegant shops there in the event you may want to take a "piece" of this historic place home.

 

We will be visitng the huge Tanger Mall in Sevierville, TN and will have coupon savings books for shopping. We will visit the Apple Barn Cider Mill and General Store. There you can sample the cider, their famous fried apple pies as well as browse through the huge barn of old time candy, gifts, collectibles, locally made crafts, jellies, jams, and much more. We will visit the Bakery there, the Creamery, the Christmas and Candle Shops. You may even have lunch, on your own at the Applewood Farmhouse Restaurant and Grill. The Apple Barn is next door to our hotel. We will also visit the Largest Chrsitmas Store in the South.

"Aladdin" at the Fox Theatre

The bus will leave at 1:00 pm to discover "A Whole New World" with this phenomenal Disney Broadway hit musical. This show is a sell out at the Fox but we have great seats due to our group status. This is not a kids' production. You will most certainly "connect" with "ALADDIN."

 

If you want to see the very best of Broadway - don't miss this one.

 

It is filled with unforgettable beauty, magic, comedy and breathtaking spectacle. It's an extraordinary theatrical even where one lamp_ and three wishe􀀌 make the possibilities infinite. This new musical boasts an incomparable design team, withsets, costumes and lighting that are astounding ..... Oh and wait till you meet "The Genie."
