October 12-21

Washington D.C. - Our Nation's Capital

October 12 - 21, 2020

Single: $3430    Double: $2400  Triple: $2060   Quad: $1860

Deposit: $200 - applies toward balance

NOTE: This trip includes a guided tour of the White House. Due to security procedures in place in Washington D.C., booking by June 1 is necessary for this security clearance to be completed for all individuals by the date of our visit.

Join us for this 10 day comprehensive tour of our nation's capital and surrounding areas. We have packed as much as we can into this outing and we are certain that you will get to enjoy the very best that D.C. offers in this timeframe. The weather should be great for touring at this time of year and we are very excited to present this very patriotic tour.

We leave Belleville on Monday, October 12 and travel all day, with breaks and lunch, to Schmidt's German Restaurant in Columbus, Ohio to experience their "Audubon German Buffet" before checking into our hotel for the evening. American food is also available. The next evening we arrive in Alexandria, VA just outside of D.C., where we will be staying at the beautiful Hilton Embassy Suites in Old Town Alexandria. We have spacious two room suites, with 2 flat screen TVs, a refrigerator, and a microwave. There is cooked to order complimentary breakfast each morning, a heated indoor pool, whirlpool, fitness center, evening snack reception and Caprese, their onsite restaurant that serves daily from 11 a.m. to 11 p.m. There is also an outdoor patio attached to the restaurant.

Old Town Alexandria, just 7-8 miles from D.C., has a walkable mile of centuries' old architecture and over 200 restaurants and boutiques. From our hotel we step directly onto the beautiful streets of Alexandria. Our hotel is located directly across the street from the Metro that goes to D.C. and the free Old Town Alexandria Trolley for touring locally on your own. We will be having a two hour relaxing Sunday brunch as we cruise down the famous Potomac River on the Odyssey, with glass ceilings and full length glass sides for uninterrupted viewing of this magnificent waterway.

We have a step on guide with narrative on our first day in D.C. We will tour the Washington D.C. area including visits to all the war memorials, the Capitol Building, the Smithsonian, National Mall, Thomas Jefferson, Abraham Lincoln, Martin Luther King Jr. and Franklin D. Roosevelt memorials, the Washington Monument, Supreme Court, and Library of Congress. After our touring day with a private guide we have the next two days on our Hop-on-Hop-off Trolley to more indepth touring as you choose. The Museum of the Bible has only been open 2 years and would be a great place to tour on your own during this time.

We have a scheduled, guided tour of the White House. We will be having a candlelight prime rib, etc., dinner one evening at Gadsby's, in Alexandria, built in 1792, a favorite tavern and restaurant of our founding fathers.

We have an all day, private, guided tour or Gettysburg, touring the battlefields, visitors' center and museum, with an expert historian and lunch on the grounds, as well as a guided tour of Mt. Vernon, the home of George Washington another day.

As we leave Alexandria and start home, we will drive, tour and have lunch at Monticello, the home of Thomas Jefferson in Charlottesville, Virginia.

From there we drive to West Virginia, to the town of Sulphur Springs, where we will experience a little know "gemstone" in our country, but a place that has been there for many decates to protect our nation's leaders in the event of a nuclear war. We will tour the Bunkers of Greenbrier. This amazing bunker was built to house all 535 members of Congress if, in fact, the Cold War, several decades ago, turned nuclear. This time frame called a "hidden gem" in plain sight. We will be staying the night in the luxurious Greenbrier Resort and we will be enjoying a four course dinner and full breakfast buffet in the main dining room. This resort was built in 1722 and has been host to 26 presidents and continues to host celebrities from all over the world. We have full access to all the special amenities shops, etc. this resort has to offer while we are there. From Greenbrier we continue homeward.

We are quite excited about this trip. It is packed with history and facts about our nation's capital, but extends to you several nights of leisure for rest or exploration while in Alexandria.

NOTE: You may want to consider purchasing outside trip insurance through a travel company. We will not be able to refund after June 1, 2020. Please remember the June 1 date for booking as well in order to have time to recieve security clearance for the White House tour. There is nothing concerning in this regard. We will all get clearance I'm sure, but the time line is of concern. You may have heard...things move slowly in D.C.

Included in your travel package:

- 9 nights lodging

- All coach bus travel

- All sightseeing tours noted

- 9 full buffet breakfasts

- 3 lunches

- 3 dinners

- Travel information in regard to the areas we will be touring

- Complimentary water and light snacks as we travel

We will do everything we can to ensure that you will enjoy this trip and all the experiences therein.

Please call for reservations and/or questions.
