Cornerstone Deaf Church is dedicated to bringing the Gospel and Christian fellowship to the deaf community throughout Southern Illinois. Each service and Bible study is presented through sign language. Cornerstone was started in the Spring of 2011 and has continued growing since the beginning. It is Cornerstone’s goal to connect deaf people to God in St. Louis and the surrounding areas, by breaking down denominational and cultural barriers and simply presenting the story of Jesus and how people can experience a relationship with him.
The church is under the leadership of Marva Petrus, who has been a pastor since 2002, when she began Oak Brook Community Deaf Church in Chicago.
