About

daycarelogoChildcare for Children 6 weeks– 12 years

The Early Learning Center is a ministry of Saint Matthew UMC that provides childcare for Children 6 weeks to 12 years. Our center offers childcare and developmentally appropriate learning activities for children fifteen months to five years old. We also offer before and after school childcare for children in Kindergarten through age twelve. The center and school age programs are operated as a non-profit ministry, and tuition is based on the operating costs for the year.

Our staff is made up of people truly dedicated to working with young children in their most formative years. Our directors, teachers, teacher's aides, and licensed food service personnel have recieved training in early childhood development, first aid, and CPR. Fifteen hours of continuing education training are required annually.

Our Curriculum

  • Bible Stories and lessons
  • Math and Science center lessons
  • Reading and writing readiness activities
  • Sensory and art experiences
  • Fine and gross motor development activities

Purpose

The Saint Matthew Early Learning Center provides a rich enviornment in which your child is free to develop unique aspects of his/her personality.

The program is designed to foster your child's growth and development spiritually, emotionally, intellectually and physically. Various hands-on activities are provided so your child may be actively involved with people, materials and the environment. Language development is encouraged through activities that stimulate your child's senses. Songs, finger plays, games, etc., help the children learn numbers, letters and self-expression.

Preprinting skills are developed through cutting, pasting, coloring, and scribbling.

Goals

It is our goal through the involvement of the family that we will be able to act as an extension of your family. We want to provide each child with their best care and early education available. Parents can show interest in their child's care by providing a safe place for the creations their child brings home. Giving your child the opportunity to talk about their day also shows interest.
