One of the longest running outreach ministries here at Saint Matthew, New Creation Puppeteers has reached thousands of people. With the help of volunteers the ministry runs smoothly each and every year. New Creation Puppeteers is an ever growing ministry with fun performances and times of fellowship around every corner. The Puppeteers have performed around the country, with most of the performances being held locally.

For almost 40 years, this ministry has been serving God as an outreach to the community and church families. This has been a ministry that allows the youth to work together as a team and have an outlet to share God’s love through music and skits. They spend Sunday afternoons practicing, and many extra hours out on the road performing for nursing homes and other community events. This ministry has allowed adults, youth, and kids to work together and bond because of one common interest: sharing God’s love. Over the years, the youth have shared this interest and created a bond of friendships and lasting memories. Many youth have gone on to work in the ministry, teach others, or take on leadership roles in our community.

We are a group of 5th through 12th graders who have a passion to serve. Your children learn the techniques of working a puppet while the Scriptures are impressed upon their hearts through music. Puppets is a ministry to learn Scripture and Christian living in a whole new way.

5th and 6th grade (Beginner Puppets) practice is from 3:30 p.m. to 4:30 p.m Beginners have a more basic practice and get to learn how to move and use a puppet, while working alongside the Senior Puppeteers.

7th through 12th grade (Senior Puppets) practice is from 4 p.m. to 5 p.m. This is the time when we travel as a ministry. We take monthly trips and use them as a way to bring God the glory and happiness to communities.
